Introduction

After you add words to your dictionary, you can practice them. Only words that aren't marked as known are included in the tests. Each time you get the answer right, a counter for the word is decreased, and when you get the answer wrong, it is increased. When the counter reaches 0, the website will automatically mark the word as known, and it won't appear again in practice tests.

Overview

When you click on "Practice" in the top menu, a practice test page will open.

Notice that on top of the page, you can select the time frame for your words. You can select between "All words" or words modified in one of the timeframes available (24 hours, 7 days, 30 days, or 90 days).

There are different tests available. On the previous screen, you can see the test that requires you to fill in the blanks in a phrase. Only words with a phrase will be displayed in this way. Notice also how the test shows a question for a verb with a separable prefix. If you pay attention while adding words to your dictionary, such functionality is available. More info about managing your dictionary can be found in the guide to working with lessons.

The tests that are currently available are the following:

  • Select a correct response (question displays either English or German word)
  • A question is displayed, and then you have to think of an answer. In the next step, the answer is displayed, and you mark for yourself if your answer was right or wrong.
  • Test phrases (displayed in the previous screenshot)
